  • THE game between the newly reformed Siddington Cricket Club and Cowley CC took place on Wednesday, July 26 despite the weather being a little overcast and damp. Siddington fielded a team that ranged in ages from 10 to 71. Batting first, Cowley reached 94-4 from their 20 overs. Siddington kept up with the run rate for much of the game but needed 16 runs from their last over and finished on 86-8, losing by just eight runs. The general consensus was that the evening was a great success. Jon Hughes, who is responsible for reforming the team, is still researching its history and has been contacted by two gentlemen who played for Siddington in the late 1950s. They believe that the team last played sometime between 1957 and 1959.
