  • CHEDWORTH Silver Band’s next engagement is at Brockhampton Show on August Bank Holiday Saturday, August 26. The band has acquired some new music including the ‘Hogwarts March’ from the Harry Potter films which should appeal to a younger audience. The band is still seeking additional cornet players.   • THE village hall committee has approached the Parish Council for a donation towards the costs of a new disabled WC which is required to meet current legislation including the disability discrimination act. The Parish Council set aside £4,000 for the village hall in its 2017/18 budget.
  • CHEDWORTH Roman Villa is having their ‘Big Dig’; the final planned excavations of the site from now until August 31. This is the last year of the excavations and a great opportunity to catch up on any new discoveries being unearthed.
  • THE Chedworth Show continues to seek raffle prizes, bric a brac, books etc for the August Bank Holiday weekend show. Please contact Sue Trafford at the Summer House, Green Lane or visit chedworthshow.co.uk Funds from the raffle will support Chyp and the National Star Centre.
  • THE 5 until 11pm after show party scheduled to follow The Chedworth Show on Saturday, August 26, has unfortunately had to be cancelled due to poor advance ticket sales. The after show party was conceived as a fundraiser for the St Andrews PTA charity, but as poor attendance could have resulted in a significant financial loss the organisers had no choice but to cancel. Purchased tickets will be refunded in full.

  • LOOKING for summer entertainment? On Friday, August 18 there are some very different events happening locally for young people. Family Funday taking place for younger children at Naight Park, Bourton on the Water between 1-4pm. Then later that day, for older secondary age youths, Youth Fest is back on the KGV Playing Field in Northleach between 5-7pm. Come along to learn graffiti, drumming and circus skills.
