  • FURTHER to his appeal for cricket players in the July edition of the Village News, Jon Hughes is pleased to report that he has had a good response, so much so that the reformed Siddington Cricket Club has its first game away at Cowley CC (on the Cheltenham road) on Wednesday, July 26. The game starts at 6.15pm and supporters are welcome. If you are interested in playing, contact Jon for more details on 07947 805 819 or email jonhughes2000uk@yahoo.co.uk. Siddington is one of the oldest cricket clubs in Gloucestershire, with evidence that a game was played against Cirencester’s second team in 1858. Jon believes that the club played well into the 1920s but then faded, possibly making the game against Cowley the first in living memory.
  • A MORNING Praise service takes place at St. Peter’s on Sunday July 23, starting at 10am.
