  • ON FRIDAY, July 21 singer, songwriter Josh Kumra performs with his three piece band. The evening begins with a BBQ and bar at The Goods Shed from 6.30pm. Josh will be on stage at 7.30pm. Tickets £12 each.
  • ON SATURDAY, July 22 there will be a Alpaca Wool Weaving Workshop at The Goods Shed from 10am to 12noon class for children aged 7+, costing £8. From 2pm to 4pm there will be a class for adults, costing £15.

  • THERE will be a special benefice service on Sunday, July 23 to welcome Tetbury’s new curate Rob Church at 10.30am. No service at 8.30am.

  • THE next Tetbury and District Footpath group meeting/walk is on Tuesday, July 25 at 10am. Cars needed. Meet at the free long-stay car park by the old Goods Shed off Cirencester Road and  drive to meet the Leader in Sherston High Street. The walk is mainly around Tormarton and Dodington Estate.   • THE next police open surgery meeting point is on Wednesday, July 26 from 2-3pm at Tetbury Town Council offices, The Old Courthouse. 
  • TETBURY Police Museum, The Old Courthouse, 63 Long Street, Tetbury, present Sherlock Holmes Trail on July 26. Use your powers of observation and deduction at these Sherlock Holmes inspired detective walking trails in Tetbury and discover some of the town’s hidden secrets. All ages welcome. £3.50 adults, £2.50 children. Unaccompanied children age 10+ please. No booking necessary. 10am-2pm.
  • THE Romney House Surgery Patient Participation Group AGM is on Thursday, July 27 at 6.30pm in the surgery waiting room. All patients are welcome to attend. After the formal business we will have an informal open chat. If you wish to attend please let the surgery or Jennifer Skillen (romneyppg@cyberbarn.org.uk) know so that we can arrange refreshments.
  • THIS year’s Summer Reading Challenge theme at Tetbury Library is Animal Agents to encourage children aged 4-11 to borrow books. Free to attend.
  • AT THE last Tetbury Town Council meeting, the highways working party looked at the GCC highways proposed scheme for pedestrian improvements of the multi-junctions at the bottom of Long Street and discussed priorities for 2017/18. There is already a wishlist in existence but if you have any concerns or suggestions please contact Georgina on cro@tetbury.gov.uk.

  • SHERSTON Arts Festival has a new home on the internet where you can find all the news, ticket information and downloadable entry forms for this year’s festival, which takes place from October 6-15. Take a look at sherstonartsfestival.com for a full line-up, from author visits to details to new ventures.
  • A CHARITY bingo, in aid of a different local charity each month, takes place tomorrow, 7.30pm for 8pm start in the village hall. Entry is 50p entry and 30p a book. Light refreshments available.
  • THE Friends of Sherston School’s Olympic Day raised £1,500 for school funds.
  • SENIOR club meets on Tuesday, 2.30pm in the village hall, when Optimum Mobility will be demonstrating their aids to easier living. Visitors welcome at £2 each, to include refreshments. Call Helen Quirk on 01666 840516.
  • AS PART of this year’s Arts Festival there will be willow sculpture workshops for adults, run by Linda Rees. The sessions are on October 14 from 10am to 12.30pm or 2-4.30pm.
