TRYING to get a taxi after a certain time in the evening in Cirencester has been the cause of much annoyance for residents and visitors alike for years.
Booking in advance is not always an option, particularly if you enjoy a spontaneous night out or your train or coach has been delayed.
The result of which often means people of all ages resorting to walking some distance alone to get home, in the early hours of the morning.
On Sunday, one woman had to walk four and a half miles from Kemble Station to Oaksey with her suitcase because there were no taxis were available at 6pm.
In this day and age, in an area like the Cotswolds, surely this should not be happening?
With the expanding university and college, as well as a number of growing businesses attracting more young people into the town, demand for late night taxis is only going to grow.
And with bars and clubs staying open later to mirror the night scene in bigger towns and cities, it is surely an issue which needs to be resolved quickly.
