THE Northleach Charter Fair and Music Festival returns this weekend.

The annual event takes place on Saturday from 10.45am when the parade will begin in the Market Square.

The fair will then take place on the King George V playing fields from 11am, before the music festival takes over from 5pm-11pm.

Activities on offer include a fun fair and go karts, as well as tennis coaching and a grand raffle at 4.30pm.

This year will also see the return of the popular business and charity stalls, and cream teas in the church.

Refreshments include an ice cream van, BBQ and fully licensed bar at the Pavilion on the field.

The music festival will feature a range of genres from pop to soul and folk, with performances from the Northleach Choir, As Mamas, Plucking Different, James Carr and the Comrades, Amy Harrison, Paige and the Red Shift and The Bridge.

The Charter Fair dates back to 1227 when King Henry III granted the town of Northleach a charter, allowing a weekly market and annual fair.

The event benefits many charities and businesses, with the funds raised going towards a number of international charities and clubs.
