  • TONIGHT (Thursday), over 60 ladies will gather in Kemble Village Hall for a group meeting from Avening, Tetbury and Kemble and Ewen Women’s Institutes, and the host president Mary Sturman will invite those present to pause to remember the late Jo Cox MP who was murdered just over a year ago in support of her belief that we all have ‘more in common than what divides us.’
  • THIS Saturday representatives from the Kemble and District Royal British Legion and women’s section will muster in Page Park, Staplehill, Bristol for the annual Armed Forces Day Parade taking place at 11am.
  • SOMERFORD Keynes village welcomes everyone to go along to its Great British fete being held at The Manor House next to the church this Saturday from 2-5pm. £3 and children free. With tractor rides, music, pimms, barbecue, face painting, dog show, art exhibition, cakes etc, there is something for everyone. 
  • ON SUNDAY there will be a United Benefice Holy Communion service in Rodmarton with a choir at 10am. Earlier in the morning in Tarlton. Holy Communion will be held at 8am. No other services will take place in the parish.
  • THIS Sunday in Kemble Village Hall AG and Kate Country and Gospel singers will perform from 4pm. Tea and cake from 3.30pm. The couple from Holland have been regular visitors over many years to the village bringing their unique programme of music with guitars, banjo, autoharp and dulcimers. Entrance is free, but there will be a retiring collection to help support their ministry in the prisons of Britain and the USA.
  • MRS Turner of Kemble School will retire at the end of this academic year, after many years of dedicated service in the school office. Full details about this future vacancy is on the Gloucestershire jobs website glosjobs.co.uk. Also there will be a clerk to governors position available, taking minutes at six full governing body meetings which take place after school time.   • BARRIE Cran, coordinator of Kemble church fete which was held a few weeks ago, will be at The Tavern pub Kemble next Tuesday from 8pm to have a post-fete catch up. Barrie would like to get people’s/helpers’ views on what went well and what can be improved on. Barrie thanks the team behind the scenes and who manned the stalls etc.
