PLENTY of residents headed down to The Abbey Grounds in Cirencester on Tuesday, as the summer heat wave continued.

It is not often we see temperature in and around 30°C for more than a week in the UK, even in summer, with many people taking full advantage across the Cotswolds.

Those in The Abbey Grounds on Tuesday afternoon included friends Jeni Warner and Coco Johnson, who were happy to pose for several photos with Standard photographer Paul Nicholls.

Emma Fuchs was enjoying a spot of sunbathing, whilst listening to some music, and Cirencester Dyslexia Centre Home Schooling Group members Stephen, Lucia and Emilia sheltered from the heat in a tent.

Cotswoldweather.net, a Cirencester-based weather station, is even predicting that the district could see temperatures of up to 33°C today.
