THE organisers behind Cirencester Relay For Life held a T-Shirt Day last week to help promote the event.

So far, 33 teams have signed up for the relay to be held on Saturday, July 29 at South Cerney Airfield, with the aim to raise more than £100,000 for Cancer Research UK.

On Friday, April 21 many team members wore their Relay t-shirts to work and took photographs throughout the day and shared them on social media.

Then in the evening over 90 team members, including cancer survivor Kerry Dean joined event chairwoman Sharon Scrivens for a photo outside Cirencester Parish Church.

Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard:

Of the 352 people signed up so far, eight are cancer survivors who will casually walk the first lap of the relay.

What’s more, on Saturday, June 10, organisers are asking shops, businesses and homes in the town to decorate their windows in purple – the official colour of Relay for Life.

On the same day, there will also be buskers in the Market Place, with any budding musicians, brass bands, choirs or singers encouraged to get in touch and spend an hour performing.
