TETBURY Lions have donated £250 to local charity Ronan's Trust, which helps bereaved individuals.

The presentation took place at the launch of the Ronan’s Trust Tetbury bereavement gardening group.

Emma Tyler, founder of the charity, was delighted to receive the cheque.

She said: “It will help so much in getting us started, we really appreciate the extra effort the Lions have made to assist us in this way.”

Emma established the charity after she found herself bereaved at a young age.

Offering nurture and support to those who have suffered a close family bereavement, Ronan's Trust provides opportunities for bereaved individuals and families to meet in small groups and work together in gardens and on land based projects, as well as offering natural craft activities.

The trust also provides practical support for those who have been immediately bereaved and need help in their gardens.

Ronan’s Trust has allotments near Cirencester, Gloucester, Stroud and Tetbury.

The trust is looking for keen runners wishing to take part in the Cheltenham Half Marathon on their behalf on June 18.

You can also learn to make a beanpole wigwam with willow worker Norah Kennedy at Close Nursery in Tetbury at 10am on Saturday, May 27.
