  • OAKSEY village fete committee meets on Monday, 7.30-9pm in the village hall.
  • OAKSEY’S PCSO, John Bordiss, is keen to meet residents and discuss any issues or concerns you may have. He will be available at Autumn Cottage Kitchen café, The Rest, Oaksey Village Hall, from 10.30am-12.30pm on March 31.
  • OAKSEY School is holding a beetle drive on Monday from 5-6.30pm; all children welcome. Hot dogs and drinks are included in the entry fee. Parents are all invited to Class 2 and 3’s Shakespearian Trilogy on Tuesday at 2.30pm; this performance is linked to the children’s topic on the Tudors and their literacy work on plays. There will be a retiring collection for a cause to be chosen by the children. The Friends of Oaksey School are holding an Easter ‘crafternoon’ on March 30, 3.15-4.15pm in the school hall, then on March 31 Classes 2 and 3 are holding a cake and pre-loved uniform sale from 3.15-3.45pm.
  • WI MEMBERS head to Churchdown on Wednesday at 7.30pm, for ‘Man at the WI – Never a Dull Moment’. This will be an hilarious talk from Peter Bryant who is the retiring secretary of the GFWI.

  • SOMERFORD Keynes village hall is the venue for a coffee morning and will be open from 10am until 12pm today, Thursday. A warm welcome is extended to all but especially to any mums with young children as there is plenty of space for the children to play. 
  • TOMORROW, Friday, is the Poole Keynes Red Nose Day social event in aid of Comic Relief and Poole Keynes village hall funds. Contact Judith on 770301 if you would like to enter a quiz team which can be made up of individuals or couples on the night, £5 per person. Have supper before you come and bring a pudding to share. Join in the fun and wear something red. Real ale and fizz on sale, doors open for a 7.30pm start. 
  • BOOK one of the last tables remaining for this Saturday’s night quiz in Kemble village hall with quiz master Mike. Teams of four for the fee of £36 which includes a light supper. Raffle and cash bar, 7.30pm for 8pm start, bookings to Jean on 07770 690182. 
  • MOTHERING Sunday services are in Kemble and Poole Keynes at 9.30am and in Somerford Keynes at 11am. Hope you remembered to put your clocks forward so that you are not late for the services. 
  • KEMBLE coffee stop will be open in the village hall on Monday from 10-11.30am, with the usual variety of hot drinks and cakes/biscuits all for the entry price of just a £1 per person. Catch up with your neighbours and friends. 
  • LITTLE Fishes are open on Monday afternoons for all pre school children and their carers in Kemble village hall from 2-4pm in term time only. It is a real joy and refreshment, Pat Ferris can give further details on 770756.

  • SISTERS Emily and Sara Lawlor of Kemble have lined up some craft courses which will take place in Cirencester at The Bothy 12 Ashcroft Road. Creativity and wellbeing course/workshop will cover expressive art (painting) for people with dementia and also classes for those who want to just combine art activities with simple relaxation.
