THE Great Get Together to commemorate MP Jo Cox will be taking place across the country in June.
People are invited to get together with friends and neighbours for street parties, picnics, barbecues, bake-off competitions and other events over the weekend of June 17 and 18.
The initiative by the 'Big Lunch', Jo Cox Foundation and other groups, follows the first anniversary of the murder of Mrs Cox on June 16 last year.
Cotswold District Council is keen to help facilitate street parties and other community events organised by residents.
This could involve an organised event in a market place, leisure centre or other community building.
Town and parish councils will be encouraged to promote events in church or parish halls.
