A RESIDENT of a care home in Cirencester celebrated her 107th birthday yesterday (March 16) with friends and family.
Elsie Duffy, originally from Devon, moved to Hunters Care Centre in December, and celebrated her birthday with a party thrown by daughters Lindsay James and Ann Turnbull.
Great-grandchildren Sasha, nine, Lara, seven, and Rudi, five, headed straight from Powell's Primary School to wish Elsie a happy birthday.
Lara also celebrated her birthday this month, meaning she is almost 100 years to the day younger than her great-grandmother.
Music at the party included Vera Lynn, while there was also a wulnut and coffee cake.
Elsie is believed to be the oldest person in Gloucestershire.
