  • THERE will be meeting of the Tetbury Woolsack Committee tonight, Thursday, February 23, in the lounge of The Snooty Fox at 7.30pm. This small but dedicated group of individuals meet once a month to plan the next Woolsack Day event which is being held on Bank Holiday Monday, May 29. Proceeds to local good causes and charities. They are very keen to welcome new members and are open for entries for competitors and stalls for this year. Details can be found on tetburywoolsack.co.uk.
  • CAPSTICKS, the independent investigators into Romney House Surgery, will interview patients who have submitted complaints. The deadline was extended further to midnight on Tuesday, February 21, due to the volume of people who wished to raise issues. Until the results of the investigation come back, the second petition will still carry on running to be taken to the House of Commons and presented, should it be needed. And you can still contact Alison Hesketh if you have any concerns on 01666 505113 or email alison.hesketh1@btinternet.com.
  • MAGGIE Heaven, chairwoman of The Dolphins Hall, was sad to receive the resignation of Colin Pearce, vice-chairman. Colin has been a great asset to the Dolphins Hall. We all thank him for all his hard work.
  • TEA dance at Dolphins Hall on March 4 from 2-4pm. £5 per person to include tea and cakes.
  • THE Lions Race Night at Dolphins Hall on March 11. Bar open.
  • THE Learn to Dance classes every Tuesday evening at the Dolphins Hall from 8.15-10pm are proving to be a huge success. £7 per person. All welcome.
  • THE Dolphins Hall AGM will be held at the hall on Wednesday, April 19.
  • COLIN Pearce has decided after a great deal of thought to step down as a Tetbury town  councillor. Colin, who is one of  most prolific and hard-working councillors, will indeed be a hard act to follow as he has been a tireless campaigner for the revamp of the Dolphins Hall, the Burial Ground, traffic safety and for affordable and social housing and will be greatly missed.
  • THE Footpaths Group AGM is  taking place in the Dolphins Hall on Friday, March 3, at 7pm. After a brief business meeting, there will be a presentation on the walking holiday in Sicily last year, and light refreshments. All are welcome.
  • THE next police open surgery meeting point will be Monday, February 27, from 11am-12pm in Tetbury Town Council offices, The Old Courthouse, 63 Long Street.
  • ALISON Hesketh would like to thank on behalf of the Food Bank team the many people who support them each week. She would like to invite anyone to purchase a ticket for a special food bank banquet cooked by a professional chef on Saturday, March 18. This will be at the Bingham Hall in Cirencester and will cost £30 a head. It would be fantastic if they could have 10 people willing to support this fundraising effort. The chef will prepare a special meal using the contents that are used in the food bank box. For further information, contact Alison on 01666 505113 or email alison.hesketh@btinternet.com.
