TRIBUTES have flooded in and more than £2,000 has been raised after mother Hannah Wood was killed when her car hit a tree and burst into flames near Tetbury.

Hannah, 30, a former pupil of Cirencester Kingshill School and a care worker in Stroud, died on the road between Avening and Tetbury after her Mini Cooper crashed into a tree on Monday, February 13.

Warm tributes have flooded in since then and two funds have been set up in her memory.

Money raised will help support Hannah's partner Jon Newman, 30, and their four-year-old son Jamie after the sad loss.

Hannah is one of three siblings with an older sister Lucy Skuse and younger brother Charlie Wood, her parents are Chris Wood and Julie Skuse.

Lucy on behalf of the family said: “Hannah was a loving daughter, mother, sister and partner to Jon, she meant the world to us all.

“She was the best daughter mother, sister and partner she could be.

“Hannah was outgoing, bubbly, caring, loving and had the best sense of humour.

“Her job was a support worker for voyage care which she loved.

“She was a fantastic mother to Jamie who she doted on.

“Family was everything to her and she will leave a massive hole in all of our hearts.”

A JustGiving page set up by Adam Scotford has raised more than £2,000, double the target amount, with the help of more than 150 supporters.

Another page, which raised more than £200, was also set up by close friend Jemma Pawlyszyn, who will be running a half marathon in August to raise money.

Jemma said: “Hannah was such a lovely kind woman and I cannot believe someone so caring and warm has been taken so suddenly.

"I know there is nothing I can do to bring Hannah back and it's heartbreaking.”

A fellow parent, Sam Jones, whose child attends the same school as Jamie, said: “Such a lovely lady, my heart goes out to the family.

“My son says he will look after Jamie when they go back to school, bless him.”

Close friends Danni Mooney and Emma Guyton sent their best wishes.

Danni said: “Hannah you beautiful lady, I can still hardly believe this sad, sad news.

“You will be truly missed, my thoughts are with all those that love you.”

Emma said: “Love to all your family at this sad time you were a very beautiful and bright girl who was so kind and funny and full of life, you will never be forgotten.”

The tragedy occurred shortly before 12.30pm on the B4014/Tetbury Hill, close to the Chavenage turning.

Several witnesses to the crash tried to pull her from the wreckage before the car burst into flames, but they were not able to rescue her. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Flowers were laid at the site of the crash and dozens of people posted comments on Facebook to pay their respects to the popular young woman.

Anyone who witnessed the incident and hasn’t yet spoken to police should call 101 and quote incident 211 of February 13.
