ANTI-social behaviour in Bourton-on-the-Water, which allegedly forced a family out of the village, has prompted a meeting between Gloucestershire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Martin Surl and the parish council.

Since summer last year, there have been reports of anti-social behaviour of young people around the village green, which has resulted in residents feeling intimidated.

Gloucestershire PCC Martin Surl and deputy PCC Chris Brierley will be attending a parish council meeting on Wednesday, February 1 to discuss any concerns.

The meeting, which will be held at the community centre in Bourton at 6pm, is open to the public to attend.

County councillor Paul Hodgkinson said: "I would like some really firm action taken by the police about this behaviour because it cannot be allowed to continue.

"It is intruding on village life. It is having poor impact on what is a nice place to live.

"There has been verbal abuse, drinking and drug taking, and when people have confronted the young people about their behaviour, there have been some nasty situations where people have been intimidated so much so that one person’s family has chosen to move out.

"Bourton is a lovely place and this has to be nipped in the buds. I’m looking for firm commitment from the police."
