HATHEROP Castle School's Lego Robotics Team, Team HCS, have for the second year running, won the regional First Lego League tournament to progress to the national finals next month.
The team also won the robot game section of the competition with the highest number of overall points in the UK and Ireland so far this year.
The team, consisting of children from year five to eight, have been building and programming their robot since September, as well as working on a project to present to the judges about animal conservation.
The judges were impressed by the team's approach to all aspects of the competition and the children were praised for 'core values' and professionalism, as well as their robot design.
