  • THE mobile library makes its monthly visit to the village hall this Tuesday, January 24 from 10.15-11.45am. The library has a computer with satellite broadband as well as a selection of books.
  • CHEDWORTH Parish Council has a budget meeting this Monday, January 23 at St Andrew’s School. This is because the whist drive is using the village hall that evening. The regular February monthly meeting will revert to the village hall.
  • THE village hall committee has applied to the Parish Council for assistance in resolving a lack of capacity at the hall. There are up to four groups wishing to use two rooms on occasion. The hall committee is already committed to providing a folding screen capable of dividing the games room into two smaller spaces and works to improve disabled access and asked the council’s views on both making a financial contribution and possible use of part of the playing field for an extension. The Parish Council has requested more information.
  • NEW direction signs have appeared around upper Chedworth thanks to Sue Callard and Friends of St Andrew’s. The signs to the Church village hall and St Andrew’s school have been needed for some time but Highways declined to fund them.
  • THE police have accepted an invitation to have a stand at the Parish Council drop-in session on January 28 from 10am-3pm. Thames Water, the South West Ambulance Trust and county councillor Paul Hodgkinson will also be attending, as will some Chedworth parish councillors so residents can get first aid advice from the Ambulance Trust, talk to Thames Water about problems with water supply and discuss any problems with councillors and police.
  • THE parish is waiting to see if the vacancy on the Parish Council will be filled. The vacancy has been advertised three times but thus far no-one has come forward. If there is to be an election the notices will be on village noticeboards and on the CDC website.
  • CHEDWORTH Silver Band’s website has gone down. The Band is working on the issue but the problem is with the server. In the interim, information can be found on Chedworth Silver Band Facebook, from chedworthsilverband@mail.com and from 01285 720313 or 01793 771667.
