CIRENCESTER Town Council are set to consider and approve the council’s formal response to a controversial outline planning application for 2,350 homes in Chesterton, at a public meeting tomorrow evening.
Town residents are invited to air their views on the proposed development at the meeting at 7pm on Tuesday, January 17 in Bingham House.
News of the application, which is part of the emerging Cotswold Local Plan housing strategy, has led to much criticism from residents towards the district council and the applicants Bathurst Development Ltd.
At the meeting, councillors will receive, for consideration and approval, the recommended response of the joint corporate and planning group in respect of the outline planning application relating to land at Chesterton Farm on Cranhams Lane.
The recommendation will then be sent to Cotswold District Council (CDC), which is due to make a decision on the application in the coming weeks.
It was revealed at the end of last year, that the application would be decided at a full district council meeting, rather than by CDC’s planning committee.
