AN 11-year-old girl was brought to tears after completing a gruelling 5km swim for charity recently.
Milly Claxton-Newman who attends Hatherap Castle completed 333 lengths during her swim in aid of Helen & Douglas House.
Her mother, Deborah said: “This was a challenging event as swimming is not one of Milly's preferred sports.
“She had a few tears towards the end of her 333 length feat as her energy began to burn out.”
Milly battled through the swim, cheered on by her support crew, and used a variety of recognised strokes, as well as some occasional bespoke ones, to complete the task in four hours and 25 minutes.
She has raised a total of £2,070 for Helen & Douglas House, a hospice which provides palliative care to children, through donations from her family, friends and the parents and teaching staff at her school.
