POLICE are appealing for information after an incident of road rage in Cirencester earlier this month, in which a man and woman were assaulted.

On Friday, October 7 a man driving a white Mitsubishi Outlander blocked another car from passing on The Whiteway, before an exchange of words led to the motorist getting out of his car and allegedly assaulting a man and woman in the other car through the open window.

The 51-year-old man suffered marks around the neck as a result of the incident, which took place between 1.20pm and 1.40pm, while the woman suffered marks to the chest.

The offender is described as around 50 years old, about 6ft tall, of slim to medium build, with a bump on his nose ‘as though it had been broken’, and grey/brown hair.

He was wearing a green bodywarmer and wellies.

Anyone who recognises the description, witnessed the encounter or has any information about it should call 101 and quote incident 234 of October 7.
