A TEENAGE boy from Cirencester has been charged with witness intimidation just weeks before a trial for an alleged assault.

The 16-year-old was investigated for common assault back in May and was summoned to appear in youth court on October 28.

On Saturday, however, the victim of the alleged assault reported that the boy had threatened them with further violence after a chance meeting.

The threat could be viewed as an attempt to interfere with the interests of justice.

Both the original alleged assault and the new witness intimidation charges will be considered in court on October 28.
