AN EVENING of spiritualist teachings and music for those interested in world and personal peace will be taking place at Cirencester Spiritualist Church.

The Spiritualists' National Union (SNU) church in Meadow Road is opening its doors to people on Friday, October 21.

The family-friendly event is free to attend and will begin at 7.30pm, with music by Nick Weaver, a local composer and musician.

Nick's music aims to reflect the need for a greater peace and sense of community in this world and attendees should expect to leave feeling inspired and hopeful.

Nick will be joined by Alv Hirst, the SNU's ambassador for youth, who will be sharing his knowledge and spirit-inspired words on exploring how peace can be created in practical ways in everyday life.

The ‘Peace Evening’ is the first in a series of roadshows by Nick and Alv.

Alv Hirst said: "My aim for the event is for people of the local community to visit our church and leave inspired  – especially with all of the unrest and uncertainty happening in the world lately – we hope it can encourage people to be optimistic and spread the teaching of peace."

Minister David Bruton said: "Cirencester is a spiritual home for many, and our church has a great community, which we are always looking to grow.

"The evening is a great opportunity for the local community to come and find out more about spiritualism and finding peace. A warm welcome awaits all those who wish to attend."

The SNU represents more than 350 SNU Spiritualist churches across the UK, and Cirencester Spiritualist Church holds a weekly service on Saturdays at 7.30pm, with spiritual healing on Tuesdays and Saturdays for everyone in the area to enjoy.
