PATCHING works to improve the road surface in Tetbury will be taking place this month.

Gloucestershire Highways crews will be carrying out work for two days at the junction of Long Street (A433) and New Church Street (A4135) in the town centre.

The repairs come as part of the council’s programme of road improvements ahead of the winter months.

The repairs were arranged following a routine inspection of the road. To minimise disruption, the carriageway repair work will take place on October 24 and 25, during schools' half term.

There will be a temporary closure and diversions in place.

Part of the funding for these works has come from Cllr Tony Hicks through his highways local funding.

Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways, said: “We’ve arranged for these works to take place over a couple of days during half term week.

“This will help to keep disruption to a minimum while we carry out these much needed works.”
