A RESTAURANT and deli in Cirencester, currently closed for refurbishment work, has retained its place in this year’s Michelin Guide.

The popular eatery Made By Bob, situated in The Corn Hall, is a recipient of the guide’s Bib Gourmand, which signifies good food at moderate prices.

The restaurant is currently closed for refurbishment but has opened a pop-up deli next door until work is finished.

Chef-patron Bob Parkinson said: “This is just the news that we needed as it makes me wish I could open the new restaurant now and get cooking.

“The real thanks obviously go to my great kitchen and front of house team who have worked tirelessly all year long but also the customers who keep coming back in.

"I just hope that we can build on this success with the deli and of course the restaurant that will be open again soon.”

The Michelin Guide is published by French tyre company Michelin, who have produced an annual guide to UK restaurants for over 100 years.

The Bib Gourmand was introduced in 1955.
