THE first Cotswold Bucket List has been launched, with 100 things for visitors to see and do.

The list is the brainchild of staff at The Old Stocks Inn, Stow-on-the-Wold and has been compiled through recommendations from residents over a four-week nomination period earlier this year.

Organisers whittled down the suggestions put forward to compile the definitive 100-strong bucket list.

Attractions and businesses across Gloucestershire are well represented with over 60 must-do activities in the county making the final list, which includes seven key categories: walking, historical, adventure, food and drink, family activity, relax and unwind, and events.

Charlotte Tuck, general manager at The Old Stocks Inn, said: “We’re thrilled to present the region’s first bucket list, and we’re pleased to say it’s jam-packed with some truly unusual recommendations, along with a smattering of Cotswold favourites.

“From picturesque views and excellent eateries to quirky local traditions and fantastic events, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”

Every year, an estimated 16 million visitors descend on the Cotswolds from all over the world, generating over £1 billion for the local economy.

Covering 790 square miles and running 80 miles from north-east to south-west, the Cotswolds covers Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire, but also stretches into parts of Wiltshire, Bath, North East Somerset, Worcestershire and Warwickshire.

Visitors to the region, or locals who want to discover new Cotswold hotspots, can download and print a PDF booklet of The Cotswold Bucket List from cotswoldbucketlist.com.

Alternatively, the full list can be viewed online so that visitors can discover new things to see and do via their smartphones while on the go.

“It can be tricky for visitors who are only in the region for a few days to decide how to make the most of their time here or where to go next, so we hope that our downloadable list will help visitors to make the most of their Cotswold adventure,” Charlotte explained.

Organisers plan to update The Cotswold Bucket List annually, ensuring it is as up to date as possible. To find out more about The Cotswold Bucket List, visit cotswoldbucketlist.com
