A CLOTHES shop is due to re-open after ‘misunderstandings’ between the tenant and landlord were resolved.

Staff of Jungle boutique in Brewery Court, Cirencester, arrived for work on Saturday, September 10 to find the locks had been changed overnight.

That evening, boards were put up over the windows and door, with all the stock still inside.

Jungle director Leigh Chapman said this was done with no prior warning from landlord Wildmoor Properties, the company behind the cinema complex set to take over Brewery Court.

Jungle is due to move to a new site on Black Jack Street next month, but Leigh said the plan was to keep the Brewery Court store open as a second shop should the cinema not happen.

In a statement on Tuesday, following meetings with Wildmoor and Cotswold District Council, Leigh said: “We have had our misunderstandings with our landlord in the past and thanks to the help of third parties we began discussions to sort out our differences late last week.

"We have nearly completed these and are optimistic that Jungle will re-open on its current site by the end of the week.

“Jungle will then open in its new location in a few weeks’ time.”

Speaking outside the new premises on Black Jack Street, co-director Hilary Stewart said the new shop will be open by October 31.
