  • THERE was a wet start to Oaksey schoolchildren’s sponsored wheel challenge, but the pushers and pullers would have continued for more than the allocated hour. To date £449 has been received, which will be forwarded to the Playing Field Committee. For the summer holidays children can take part in Wiltshire Libraries’ Big Friendly Read reading challenge. Details from any library or via wiltshire.gov.uk/artsheritageandlibraries/librarieshome.htm

  • THIS Sunday a Benefice Service will held in Poole Keynes church at 10am. There will be no other services held in the parish on this day. 
  • IS THERE something you would like the police to work on in your village? Would you like to discuss something with your local police officer? A combined meeting for the villages of Siddington, Somerford Keynes, Ewen, Kemble, Poole Keyes, South Cerney, Cerney Wick, Sapperton, Coates and Preston takes place at South Cerney village hall on Tuesday, August 2, at 7.30pm. 
  • THE mobile library will be doing its rounds on Tuesday in Kemble and will be sited outside the village hall during the morning and then on Wednesday morning it will be at the end of Mill Lane in Somerford Keynes. 
  • POOLE Keynes Village Hall is the venue for a community coffee morning this Wednesday from 10-11.30am. Everyone warmly welcome. 
  • THE monthly meeting of the Cirencester eating disorders self help support group will be in St Peters lounge, St Peters Court, St. Peters Road Cirencester on Wednesday from 7.30pm. The local team of volunteers offers a listening ear and provides a network of support non-judgemental, confidential and friendly discussion to ease the worries and difficulties faced by both sufferers and carers. Further details from Pat on 01285 770385.
