TREEFEST will be back for the last time at the Forestry Commission's National Arboretum at Westonbirt and early bird tickets are on sale.

There will a jam-packed line-up of activities to entertain families over the Bank Holiday weekend from August 27 to 29.

Activities include chainsaw carving, arena display, music and crafts.

This year's arena will feature the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS team, where athletes can demonstrate their strength and precision by sawing, slicing and chopping at speed.

Visitors can also enjoy watching local craftsmen making and showcasing their woodland wares from hurdles and fencing, to axes and shingles.

For those after an adrenaline rush, The Great Big Tree Climbing Company return and children can zoom down the 25-metre zip wire or attempt to scale a 100-foot tall cedar tree.

For families after woodland survival skills, visitors of all ages can learn how to make their own den using natural materials.

For younger children, a storytelling tepee and the ‘Piggery Jokery’ puppet theatre show will be on throughout the weekend.

New this year is Junkfish who will offer activities like making butterfly wings, junk bugs. painted flowers and more.

For those after a trinket to take home, there will be 100 stalls where visitors can peruse woody wares for kitchen and home, including pottery, garden furniture, cards, and paintings.

Love Food Festival will offer tasty treats from over 30 local producers, from sweet treats and cakes to local meat, chutneys and cheese.

Simon Hough, event manager at Westonbirt Arboretum commented: “We’re really excited to celebrate the final year of Treefest in a big way!

"It’s a summer holiday highlight for us and we hope it is for families too. Last year thousands of people of all ages joined us over the three days, and we’re expecting just as many to come and celebrate with us this year.”

You can save 33 per cent by buying early bird tickets online until 5pm on August 26. Adults are £10, students and Jobseekers £8 and Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum £5.

Tickets on the gate for adults are £15, students and Jobseekers £12 and Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum £7.50.

Under 18s go free.

Treefest takes place from August 27 to 29 between 10am and 5pm, with live music continuing into the early evening.
