WORK to demolish the remains of the Memorial Hall in Lechlade has begun.
The Hall, on Oak Street, which was once home to the town council (LTC), was ravaged by fire in a suspected arson attack on May 9 while the demolition procedure is expected to last two weeks, having been started on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Pavilion building, which suffered damage in another similar attack on June 5, will be restored and re-opened by the end of August.
LTC are organising various fundraising events to ensure plans for a replacement hall can come to fruition.
