A NEW marathon hike in the Cotswolds will help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support to help people affected by cancer.

The Cotswold Way Mighty Hike is an addition to the popular Mighty Hike series and hundreds are expected to take part in the 26-mile trek on Saturday, July 23.

The hiking marathon treks along the Cotswold Way, past villages, homes and the rolling hills of one of England's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The walk is suitable for experienced and novice walkers (with some training). There will be support throughout the route, with snacks and meals, and a glass of bubbly at the finish line.

Kaeti Morrison, fundraising manager for Bath and North Somerset at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “It looks set to be a great day - full of energy and enthusiasm, laughter and cake – and importantly every step you take and every pound you raise will help Macmillan ensure no one faces cancer alone”

There is a registration fee of £25 and participants are asked to pledge to raise a minimum of £250. Sign up online at www.macmillan.org.uk/mightyhikes
