THE clippity-clop of hooves could be heard in Lechlade last week with two police horses on patrol.
Officers were sat atop Boris and Huntsman as they kept an eye on the town on Wednesday (June 15) in the first of a series of stints in the Cotswolds.
Gloucestershire Police unveiled its new mounted section in March, then just consisting of Boris and General, both former Metropolitan Police horses.
Plans to add new horses since the launch have included the addition of Huntsman.
Police have said the main reasons for bringing the horses to the area are to keep the peace in busy city and town centres and prevent anti-social behaviour.
Lechlade has recently been shaken by a number of arson attacks, including at the Memorial Hall, which are currently still under investigation.
