AN RHS Chelsea Flower Show judge and garden designer is set to give an exclusive talk at an historic Cotswold house and gardens to raise funds for a hospice charity.

Richard Sneesby will be speaking at the special ticket-only event at Cotswold Farm Gardens in Duntisbourne Abbots on June 24 in aid of Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice.

Throughout the evening, Mr Sneesby will be offering talks about the gardens at Chelsea Flower Show and the judging criteria as well as making connections between early 20th century gardens, such as Cotswold Farm, and contemporary garden design.

Open to all and including a tour of the private gardens, tickets are on sale now from the hospice costing £15 to include drinks and canapé reception from 6pm.

Elise Hoadley, Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice director, said: “We are very grateful to Cotswold Farm for hosting this exclusive fundraising event for us and for the sponsorship of Kellands Cotswolds LLP.

“Having Richard Sneesby with us to share his wonderful insights into the world of the RHS Chelsea Garden Show will be a real treat. It’s an evening not to be missed by budding and expert gardeners alike, and one I hope will raise much needed funds for our hospice charity.”

Richard Sneesby said: “I am delighted to be able to support the work of Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice and to talk about the role of the RHS shows in developing new and exciting initiatives in garden design. Where better to do this than in an important early 20th century Arts and Crafts garden, set in the beautiful Cotswolds, and one of my favourite places in the world.”

Iona Birchall from Cotswold Farm said: “It is always a delight to share your garden with people, especially if you can also raise money for charities at the same time.”
