STUDENTS at Cirencester Kingshill School have once again snapped up first and second places at a county-wide young photographer competition.
Pupils received their prizes and certificates from the mayor of Cheltenham at 3pm on Saturday, May 14 for the Gloucestershire Young Photographer of the Year competition 2016.
The school was also awarded in the Best Secondary School category again, which started just last year.
The competition, organised by Cheltenham Camera Club, invited students from 16 secondary schools across the county to enter their best shots.
As part of their GCSE Photography coursework, many students from Kingshill school took part in the competition.
First place went to Tamara Singogo for her 'Sketch Portrait', second place to Isobel Evans for her 'Sleeper Train to St Tropez' and a high commendation was awarded to Jonathan Gell for his 'Star Burst' photo.
GCSE Photography and Art & Design student Tamara Singogo wowed judges with her complicated and intricate image (pictured below). Tamara scanned a line drawing of her brother and layered it over her photograph, revealing parts of the photograph underneath.
Other Kingshill GCSE Photography students, whose work was accepted for display at the exhibition were Chloe Outram for her work 'Exposed', Amy Gough for her 'Pop Art 99', and Finn Pannell for 'Bristol Skies'.
All of the students' photos will be displayed in the Cheltenham Camera Club's annual exhibition at the Parabola Arts Centre in Cheltenham.
