RESIDENTS and business owners in Chedworth will be testing out the new ultrafast broadband speeds at a village demonstration.

Chedworth Village Hall is now one of the best connected venues in the UK, with the capability to access internet speeds of up to 1Gbps - 33 times faster than the UK average.

Residents are invited to bring their devices, tablets and smartphones to connect to the ultrafast service and see how much of a different the new pure fibre-to-the-property (FTTP_ service will make.

The pure fibre broadband provider Gigaclear will also answer questions about the new service on offer.

The build of the new network is currently on schedule, with three cabinets now installed in Cockleford, Chedworh and Withington areas, and work on a fourth cabinet underway in Winstone.

More than 77km of trench has been dug to install the Gigaclear network, and nearly 789 homes and businesses have a new fibre connection point installed at the boundary of their property, ready to access ultrafast pure fibre broadband.

The demonstration takes places from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, May 7, at Chedworth Village Hall.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to register their interest by visiting www.gigaclear.com/events.
