  • TETBURY Town Council annual town meeting at the new location of St Mary’s primary school, St Mary’s Road on Wednesday, April 27 at 7pm. All welcome. Items on the agenda will be the adoption of minutes from previous meeting, reports from the council committees and town initiatives and other organisations. There will be a questions and answer from the public section and an update on the next steps following on from the town morale meeting.
  • MAGGIE Heaven, chairwoman of the Dolphins Recreation Centre Trust, invites Tetbury residents and users of the Dolphins Hall and recreation ground to their annual general meeting on Thursday, April 28 at 7pm at the Dolphin’s Hall. This will be a chance for people to find out and get an update on the plans and next steps for the Hall and the recreation ground.
  • PEOPLE have been shocked with the news that there was some vandalism in St Saviours Church over the Easter holidays, including damage to the screen with some of the crosses being broken off, flowers being thrown around, prayer kneelers thrown into the chandelier and damage to the original Bible that has been left there for generations. People have come forward with offers to help, and there will be a meeting with a representative of the churches conservation trust this week. If you saw or heard anyone or anything please contact either the police or the Tetbury town council office/officers.
  • THE next police surgery/meeting point will be Friday, April 29 from 9-10am at Tetbury Town Council offices, the Old Courthouse, 63 Long Street. This is your opportunity to have a chat either formally or informally about any matter that concerns you.
  • TETBURY and district footpath group will be meeting at the free Goods Shed station car park on April 26. Cars will be needed for this walk as it is a short walk around the countryside of Sherston. Level B, 3.5m 5.5km. Several styles. The leader for this walk will be Jean and you can contact her on 01666 500944. The group cannot take any responsibility for participants.
  • THE next Tea Dance is on April 30 in Dolphins Hall from 2-4pm. Music will be provided byTime2Dance. A great way to make new friends. Tickets £5 available on the door.
  • TETBURY Town Council  are pleased to announce the appointment of two new members of staff . Georgina Osman will be the new customer relations officer and Richard Smith the new town project manager. Both Georgina and Richard are delighted to join such a proactive council. The town council staff structure is now as follows Natalie Haines (chief executive officer), Tara Niblett (executive officer), Georgina Osman (customer relations officer), Richard Smith (town projects manager) and  Colin Woodward (grounds foreman). Tetbury Council is now at full strength staff wise with 11 members but there is still a position as a councillor for the Town Council.  To find out more contact Natalie Haines.
  • THE centrepiece for the Queen’s Birthday celebrations will be a street party in the Chipping. To get involved please contact  Sue Ferguson at Fillys ladies clothing shop, 31 Church Street or ring her on 01666 503050.   • ON SUNDAY, May 1 there will be a Holy Communion service at Coates at 9.30am. At 11am there will be a Holy Communion service at Rodmarton with choir.
  • COATES Parish Council will meet at 7.30pm in the village hall on Monday, May 2. Everybody is welcome to attend.
  • COATES Gardening club will meet on Thursday, May 5 at 7.30pm. Please note this will be at Aspen house and not at the village hall. Further details from Margaret on 01285 771354.

  • SHERSTON 1016 is holding a stock clearance of its books on Saturday, 10am to noon-12pm in the village hall; free entry. No donations of books please; details from 01666 840611.
  • THE next brick club meeting is tomorrow in the British School Room, 5.30-6.30pm for reception up to age eight and 6.30-8pm for age eight and upwards.
  • CLEM'S club for chaps meets in the British Schoolroom on Tuesday, from 2.30-4pm.
  • THE coffee shop is open in the Church of the Holy Cross on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9.30am to noon-12pm. Fair Trade tea, coffee and hot chocolate is served, with home-made cakes and biscuits, plus a play area for children. All welcome; funds raised go to the church.
  • ON SATURDAY, the Bristol Diocese Mothers’ Union will be holding a service at Bristol Cathedral for the purpose of commissioning its new officers for the next triennial. There will be a procession of banners and the service starts at 3.30pm. Those wishing to go by coach should contact Margaret Godfrey on 01666 860536.
  • SHERSTON School’s class photos will be taken on Tuesday, starting at 8.15am.
