  • AFTER receiving an unprecedented number of entries for the Fairford & Lechlade Business Club Business Awards this year, it was exciting to find out who the worthy winners and finalists were.

These were announced at a gala sell-out dinner at The Crown of Crucis Hotel last Saturday.

  • THE monthly Contact Group will meet on Friday, February 5 from 12.30-2.30pm in Fairford United Church, Milton Street.

You will be able to meet friends old and new over tea/coffee and light refreshments.

  • ON SATURDAY, February 6, Roger West, local entrepreneur and inventor, will give a talk at 11am in Fairford Library about his globetrotting around the world promoting safer transport systems. This is a free event.

  • THE JAM (Jesus and Me) Club meets on the first Sunday of the month at 10am in St Mary’s Church, Fairford. Stories, craft and fun. The next meeting is on Sunday, February 7.
  • CHURCHES Together Around Fairford will hold their AGM on Sunday, February 7 at 4pm in the United Church, Milton Street, Fairford.

There will be a short meeting followed by some ideas for a future outreach from Rosie Emmerson.

  • FAIRFORD and District U3A will be holding a meeting for new members on Monday, February 8 in the Farmor Room of Fairford Community Centre at 11.45am.

  • THE new-style Fairford post office and coffee shop called the Coffee Post is scheduled to open on Monday, February 8 at 1pm.

Home-made cakes and fabulous coffee using locally roasted beans together with all the usual post office services.

Maxine Hastings, who has lived and worked in Fairford for many years, is being helped by her daughter Georgia and husband Dave.

  • MEMBERS of the Hilary Cottage Patients’ Participation Group would like to invite you to a coffee morning on Tuesday, February 9 between 9.15am and 11.15am in the Barker Room of Fairford Community Centre.

The members of the group live in and around Fairford and serve as volunteers working with the staff of the Hilary Cottage Doctors’ Practice to ensure that the patients’ perspective is at the heart of local health care provision.

  • THERE will be a get-together session for Fairford Art Society on Tuesday, February 9 between 1.30pm and 4.30pm in Fairford Community Centre.

  • THE full Town Council meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 7pm in the Barker Room of Fairford Community Centre.
