A 20-year-old man has pleaded guilty to punching a police officer outside a nightclub in Cirencester.
Officers were outside ReVA in Bishops Walk at about 2.30am on Sunday morning when they searched a man on suspicion of possessing drugs.
Police said that as they were speaking to him, another man, Jack Ayres, of Burge Court, Cirencester, began arguing with officers and attempted to pull the other man away.
Ayres is then alleged to have punched a police sergeant in the face.
Police caught up with him in Victoria Road and arrested him for assaulting a police officer.
On Monday, he attended Cheltenham Magistrates Court where he pleaded guilty to the charges.
His case has been adjourned until February 25 when he will appear back in front of magistrates at the same court. Until then he has had a curfew imposed.
