A CYCLIST has been taken to hospital after she collided with a car while swerving to avoid a child, reports say.
The 50-year-old woman was riding her bike along Cranhams Lane in Cirencester, near to Somerford Road, at around 3.45pm when a schoolchild reportedly stepped out into the road.
Police believe she tried to avoid hitting the student and was then involved in a collision with a car.
The woman, whose address is not yet known, was taken to Great Western Hospital with minor head injuries. Traffic was halted to deal with the accident.
A police spokesman said: “We currently do not have much information. We were called just before quarter to four.”
