A STRATEGY for transport put together by Gloucestershire County Council is being put out for consultation for the final time.

The long-term countywide strategy for transport that is included in the authorities’    draft local transport plan utlines transport priorities across Gloucestershire for 2015 to 2031

Priorities outlined in the draft plan include progression with the successful campaign launched by the council to solve the A417 Missing Link as well as working with Highways England for improvements to junctions on the M5 and Network Rail for enhancements to Gloucestershire rail services and stations.

Cabinet member for planning and infrastructure at the council,  Will Windsor-Clive, said: “We know from the consultation last year that people want to see ideas that will lessen the impact of traffic on our communities and improve travel choice.

“The draft local transport plan sets out the priorities for transport to enable sustainable economic growth and I’m looking forward to understanding peoples views on our draft priorities.”

The objectives of the draft plan are to support sustainable economic growth, enable community connectivity, conserve the environment and improve community health and well being.
