THE SUN should be out for a good portion of this weekend as people of the Cotswolds and north Wiltshire enjoy a much-needed bank holiday.
The Standard has listed a few of this weekend's top events - from music festivals, to medieval fairs, to intense woolsack races.

1) Lechlade Festival
The family fun music festival runs from Friday night (tonight) to Sunday, where legendary rock band Status Quo (pictured above) will be perfoming. There will also be local food and drink, top bands, face painting, arts and crafts, dancing, games and workshops for children and more. Visit lechladefestival.co.uk for extra information.
2) South Cerney fair and duck race
South Cerney fair is on from Friday-Monday with the duck race taking place in the village on bank holiday Monday. Stalls featuring food, drink, crafts and gifts and there will also be fun games for both adults and children. Visit facebook.com/southcerneystreetfair for more.
3) Malmesbury Beer Festival
Malmesbury beer festival is starting today (Friday) from 3pm and then tomorrow from noon at the town's football club.
Bucking bronco, beers, ciders, sausages, and more.
There will also be a bouncy castle and a live band on Saturday.
4) Cheese rolling
Cheese rolling on Coopers Hill in Gloucestershire is always a popular event, with thousands turning out to watch men and woman tear after a cheese down the steep hill.

5) Medieval fair Malmesbury
Malmesbury's medieval fair is on bank holiday Monday starting at 10.30am at the Market Cross. There will be a fancy dress competitions, stalls, medieval demonstrations, archery, food, drink and more. The event lasts until later in the afternoon.
6) Tetbury Woolsack Races and vintage fair
The woolsack races at Gumstool Hill Tetbury see hundreds turn out each year to watch men, women and children race to the top of the hill with heavy sacks on their back. The event runs from 11-3pm and there is a vintage fair alongside it too.
