ALL choir singers need to be able to sing - and three girls from Rendcomb College have proved they have the best possible voices by passing the Grade 8 singing exam.

A Level students, Amy Benson, Kathryn Rew and Livy Witt, who are part of the colleges’s chamber choir, each put in hours of practice outside of study to achieve the sought after singing grade.

Livy, 18, said: “It’s the top grade and a lot of work, so excited and relieved. We have to sing in English, German, Italian and Russian which can be challenging! And because it’s singing, if you have a cold, or a sore throat you are lost.”

Kathryn, 17, said: I had 35 mins singing lesson a week and tried to practice as often as I could, however whilst trying to complete my a levels I didn’t practice as often as I would have liked to. I did however, find time to find the instrumental part to my pieces online, and singing to those was extremely helpful, especially to remember the words!
