THIS weekend a teenage florist from Malmesbury is battling it out to become a champion at the biggest flower competitions in the country.

Freelance florist Emily Hepworth, 19, who runs Persephone Violet, is currently battling it out against 11 other florist to be name Young Florist of the Year at the Chelsea Flower show.

Emily said she is hoping her design is of a tree inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland books will wow judges.

Emily said: “ I am extremely nervous really. You can get no higher than this for floristry it is a bit daunting. You never know what to expect. Everybody’s designs are going to be terrific but I am confident with the idea that I came up with.”
