DOES your pet have model potential? Would you like to see it on the glossy pages of the Cotswolds’ most coveted calendar?

Cotswold Dogs and Cats Home is offering 12 of the area’s best looking pets the chance to star in its brand-new fund raising calendar.

The idea was dreamt up by Cirencester girl Grace Averris, 15, who has been volunteering for the charity’s youth fund raising group for more than a year.

She decided that owners could enter any pet but that they must be photographed in an outdoor scene that showcased the best of the Cotswold countryside.

“We know how important it is that the Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home is built as we hear so many sad stories of animals in need of help or a loving home and we thought a calendar of animals who are lucky enough to have a great home would be the ideal way of raising some funds towards the target,” Grace said.

There are 12 prized slots up for grabs and the entries will be judged by celebrities James Horwood, Amaury Blow and Lisa Maxwell.

The winning owners will also get a Dibond print of their glamorous pets.

Supported entirely by donations, the charity rehomes 250 animals each year and helps nearly 800 more through its support of veterinary care costs.

The home needs to raise £4.1million to build a permanent centre in the Cotswolds.

Ali Coates, a trustee of the charity, said:  “We think Grace has hit on a great idea of producing the calendar and we are so proud of her and our other youth fundraisers for all they contribute to the charity.

"We hope that everyone gets their pictures in so that the judges have a real task picking 12 of the best.”

The competition closes at midnight on May 31, to find out more visit www.cdch.org.uk.
