STUDENTS at a school will be jumping for joy at a new £15,000 athletics installation.
The new competition-grade triple jump facility was installed at Sir William Romney’s School in Tetbury with the generous help of Gloucestershire County Council’s Active Together Scheme.
It boasts a 40m track and 9m sand pit and was built just in time for the school’s annual sports day on June 23.
The track will also be available for local clubs who currently have to travel to Cheltenham to train.
The new facility fills a huge athletics gap in the community and Stroud Athletics Club has already confirmed it will use the track.
