RUNNERS will be carrying huge sacks of wool up and down one of Tetbury’s biggest hills this weekend for the iconic Woolsack Races.
On Monday, May 25, competitors will prove their strength by running the 240yd course up Gumstool Hill, Tetbury, with the men carrying 60lb bags and the women 35lb.
Tetbury was once famous for its wool trade and it is thought the races date back to the 17th century.
At the bottom of the hill at the Goods Shed will be Hels Belles Boutique with scores of vintage traders and live entertainment.
