1) Lechlade Duck Race

Monday, May 4 - 10am-5pm at the Riverside in Lechlade

6,000 plastic ducks will be released into the River Thames on Monday. Buy a duck and cheer yours on to the end of the race! There will also be a children's funfair, bouncy castles, face painting, a mobile farm, ice cream vendors and many local stalls. 2) Wacky Races in Tetbury

Monday, May 4 - all day in Tetbury

The fourth running of the Tetbury Lions Wacky Races Soapbox Derby will be held on Bank Holiday Monday. Watch homemade soapboxes speed through the streets of Tetbury in a bid to win the first prize trophy. A great family fun day out to raise money for the Tetbury Lions Club. tetburywackyraces.co.uk

3) Open day at South Cerney Outdoor

Monday, May 4 - morning activities start at 10am, afternoon starts at 2pm - South Cerney

Have a go at sailing, kayaking, canoeing, paddling and more for just £10 on Monday at South Cerney Outdoor. Buy a half day ticket to try out all the activities for £10. Kids and adults welcome. Hog roast and BBQ from Jesse Smiths butchers and coffee and cake from Mmm Coffee. Sold out last year. Advance tickets on 01285 860388. As it is National Star Wars Day there will be a competition for the best fancy dress on the day - prizes on offer.

4) Amberley Cow Hunt

Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 May - 1pm-5pm - Amberley

The 2015 Amberley Cow Hunt takes place on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Come and hunt the cows, eat wonderful cakes and drink tea. Amberley hills come alive with magnificently dressed cows for the event. 5) Feed the penguins at Birdland

Saturday, May 2 to Monday, May 4 - all day - Bourton-on-the-Water

Get up close and personal with the feathered residents at Bourton-on-the-Water’s Birdland this May Bank Holiday weekend. There will be talks, the chance to meet the keepers, penguin feeding and more. Watch Keepers feed the two species of Penguins at Birdland their fish supper at 11am and 2.30pm daily. All the family will enjoy the Bank Holiday quiz trail taking place around the park too. birdland.co.uk

6) Watch all six Star Wars films on Monday...

Finally, Monday, May 4 is Star Wars Day, an unofficial holiday created for fans of the films. If it's raining, why not watch as many of the movies as you can back to back! May the fourth be with you!
