RESIDENTS turned out to the Westwood Centre for Northleach’s annual town meeting last week.

Community fire safety officer Mr Ian Prout spoke about the changing role of the fire service in Northleach, especially the move toward preventing more fires.

Gerry Johnson spoke about his business, the Oil Buying Club, which helps people group together and bulk buy heating oil to make it cheaper.

District councillor for Northleach Christopher Hancock spoke at length about the Neighbourhood Development Plan and the response he got from children at Northleach Primary School.

He said that the general response had been positive, that people believed there was a need for houses in the town but that there must be a dialogue before any firm plans were made.

Reports were made on behalf of county Cllr Paul Hodgkinson and mayor of Northleach Cllr Wellman and by Cllr Blades on behalf of the Westwoods Centre Committee.
