CHARITIES are being invite to help raise cash for themselves by taking part in a new quiz in Cirencester which has raised around £400 for charity.

Since it started last month, the Wednesday quiz night at the Waggon and Horses pub and B and B in London Road has raised cash for a different nominated charity each week, including Cirencester Food bank and the Church Project in Cirencester.

And to allow the charities to be even more involved the pub has allowed them to come up with quiz questions and host the event.

Landlord of the Waggon and Horse David Fulcher said that he wants to continue raising the cash for charity but needs more charities to come forward and nominate themselves.

David said: “It has been very good so far, everyone has a great time and it raises a bit of money.

“If someone wants to write a quiz they can but I will write it for them. They can get in a few related questions to the charity.”

There is an extra incentive for teams taking part in the quiz as next time they attend, the winning team is given a free meal for its members and the losing team can claim a free round of drinks.

Teams in the quiz, which starts at 8pm, must have no more than six members and the cost is £3 per person.
