AN INVESTIGATION into whether Jimmy Saville abused a 10-year-old girl at a children's home in Gloucestershire could not rule out that the alleged offence may have taken place.
Parklands Children’s Home in Whitminster was singled out for investigation after a woman, named in Gloucestershire County Council's extensive report as Ruth, claimed she was sexually assaulted by Savile during her time at the home.
Staff trawled through many months of council minutes, log books and receipts but could not find evidence that the disgraced star visited the centre.
The report concluded: “The investigation team have concluded that there is no evidence to support that an incident occurred in the way described by Ruth, but cannot definitively conclude that it did or did not happen, or that it did or did not involve Jimmy Savile.”
